Tahiti’s Hidden Gems: Beyond Beaches and Bungalows

As I sit here, basking in the warm glow of the morning sun, I can't help but be transported back to a place that holds a special corner in my heart—the enchanting paradise of Tahiti. With its azure lagoons, powder-soft beaches, and the gentle sway of palm trees, Tahiti is a tropical haven that beckons travelers from all corners of the globe. Having had the privilege of experiencing this captivating destination firsthand, I am thrilled to share some highlights and insights with you.

Tahiti, the largest island in French Polynesia, is a breathtaking tropical paradise that promises a dreamy escape from the mundane routine of daily life. It is a dream destination for many luxury travelers and with good reason. This French Polynesian paradise offers some of the most stunning landscapes and luxurious accommodations in the world. With its turquoise lagoons, palm-fringed beaches, and lush volcanic mountains, Tahiti embodies the essence of a true tropical paradise.

A few weeks ago I was able to visit this well-known island that serves as the economic, political, and cultural center of the region. It was so picturesque and fulfilled a lifelong dream of mine to be able to stay in an overwater bungalow!

Bora Bora and Moorea are separate islands within the same archipelago as Tahiti, known as the Society Islands. While Tahiti is the main hub with a blend of modernity and tradition, Bora Bora is known for its romantic allure, overwater bungalows, and stunning lagoon making it a great option for honeymooners.

Moorea, on the other hand, is known for its lush landscapes, dramatic mountains, and vibrant coral reefs. It offers a more relaxed and laid-back atmosphere, making it a favorite among travelers seeking a mix of adventure and tranquility.

Each island has its own charm, making French Polynesia a diverse and captivating destination for all kinds of travelers. Here I’ll share some of Tahiti’s hidden gems and why this island should be at the top of your travel bucket list.

1)      Fautaua Valley: A Hiker's Paradise

If you're an adventurer at heart, Fautaua Valley is a must-visit. Located on the island of Tahiti, this lush valley is adorned with cascading waterfalls, hidden pools, and vibrant flora. Embark on a challenging hike through the rainforest, and you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Fautaua Waterfall, which plunges dramatically from a height of 985 feet (300 meters). The sounds of nature will serenade you as you explore this untouched piece of paradise.

2)      Vaipahi Gardens: Botanical Wonderland

For a serene and botanical escape, Vaipahi Gardens is an oasis of beauty waiting to be explored. Located on the south coast of Tahiti, these tranquil gardens boast a rich collection of tropical plants, flowers, and towering palm trees. Stroll along the shaded pathways, marvel at the colorful blooms, and listen to the soothing melodies of birdsong. It's the perfect spot to unwind and connect with nature's harmony.

3)      Arahoho Blowhole: Nature's Fury

Witness nature's incredible display of power at the Arahoho Blowhole, a natural wonder on the northern coast of Tahiti. As waves crash against the rocky shore, water shoots high into the air through a naturally formed blowhole. The sight is truly mesmerizing and a reminder of the untamed forces of the ocean. Be sure to keep a safe distance as the water can surge unexpectedly.

4)      Point Venus: Historical and Romantic

Named after the planet Venus, Point Venus is a historical landmark on the northern tip of Tahiti. This iconic site holds significance as it was the location where Captain James Cook observed the transit of Venus across the sun in 1769. Apart from its historical importance, Point Venus offers a picturesque black sand beach and captivating views of the surrounding coastline. It's an ideal spot for a romantic sunset stroll or a quiet moment of contemplation.

5)  Atoll: Diver's Paradise

Escape to the untouched beauty of Fakarava Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and diver's paradise. This remote destination is renowned for its exceptional marine biodiversity and pristine coral reefs. Dive into the crystal-clear waters to encounter an abundance of colorful fish, sharks, rays, and even the elusive hammerhead sharks if you're lucky. Fakarava Atoll promises an otherworldly underwater experience.

6) Marae Arahurahu: Ancient Polynesian Archaeology

Delve into Tahiti's rich cultural heritage at Marae Arahurahu, an ancient Polynesian archaeological site. These sacred grounds were once used for religious and social gatherings by the island's early inhabitants. Today, visitors can explore the well-preserved stone structures and gain insight into the traditions and beliefs of the past. The site's serene ambiance creates a poignant connection to Tahiti's fascinating history.

Tahiti's allure extends far beyond its popular attractions, offering a wealth of unique and lesser-known destinations that captivate the soul. From lush valleys and hidden waterfalls to historical landmarks and underwater wonders, these hidden gems promise an unforgettable journey of exploration. I love discovering distinctive places like these and adding them to itineraries for my clients to give them the most authentic and enriching travel experiences.

The Ultimate Guide to Australia

Exploring the world through travel, you immediately step into a culture of new experiences, surrounded by diversity and opportunities to discover and build relationships. Explore travel ideas from sun-drenched beaches to ancient ruins. Read on to discover where your travels could take you next.

Visiting the Land Down Under and experiencing all that it has to offer is hardly possible in one trip, yet overdoing the itinerary for your visit to this island nation is not advisable. Before you stack your list of “things to do” up too high, we’d like to provide some further insight into the highlights of Australia. That way, we can discuss your itinerary, and you can fill it full of exploration without feeling pressed for time and causing more unnecessary stress.

SYDNEY

Sydney is one of Australia's largest and most beloved cities. It is a beautiful place to begin your first 4 to 5 days on the island, especially if you are traveling between June and August. With lots of natural beauty and invigorating city life, there's so much to explore. Some places you should visit include the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Blue Mountains, Circular Quay and the Harbour, Royal Botanical Gardens, and, last but not least, the beaches.

MELBOURNE

It's easy to feel captivated by the beauty of Melbourne, so we suggest spending at least 4 to 5 days here, too. You could honestly get lost forever in all of its wonders. Although it's nowhere near as busy as Sydney, Melbourne has a bustling scene of its own. In the city, you can dine at one of many delightful restaurants or shop at any of the unique boutiques. However, the best way to get a feel for it all is by touring the entire city. Be sure to visit Federation Square, Flinders Street Train Station, the Yarra River, Chinatown, Bourke Street Pedestrian Mall, and the ever-so-popular Queen Victoria Market.

GREAT OCEAN ROAD

Travel along Great Ocean Road for some of the most amazing sites in Australia. This coastal road stretches for 151 miles and makes the perfect 2-day trip. Take your time to soak in the views and be sure to stop at the 12 Apostles, London Bridge, and all of the beaches and forests situated alongside the road.

AYERS ROCK (ULURU)

Take 2 or 3 days to visit Ayers Rock if you can squeeze it into your itinerary. Unless you fly, it will take a few days to get to the famously massive sandstone, but it's well worth it. Some of the most magical moments can be experienced at Ayers Rock, including sunrise, sunset, and stargazing.

GREAT BARRIER REEF

One of Australia's quintessential tourist attractions is the Great Barrier Reef. Since the reef stretches from below the Tropic of Capricorn way up to the northern tip of Queensland, there is plenty of opportunity for scuba diving and snorkeling. Plan to spend 3 to 4 days here, visiting Cairns, The Whitsunday Islands, Lady Elliot Island, and Cape Tribulation.

To come up with an itinerary that matches your budget and interests for a trip to Australia, let’s setup a call. We would love to discuss all of the possibilities and great things there are to exploring this gorgeous Oceania island.

5 Reasons Curaçao Needs To Be On Your Caribbean Radar

Exploring the world through travel, you immediately step into a culture of new experiences, surrounded by diversity and opportunities to discover and build relationships. Explore travel ideas from sun-drenched beaches to ancient ruins. Read on to discover where your travels could take you next.

When it comes to planning a trip where the fun in the sun and beaches you only see on television are concerned, the Caribbean is one of the premier destinations in the world. It is an area where people flock from all over to admire the beauty and fun the Caribbean delivers.

Often when people think about going to the Caribbean, they look into visiting St. Kitts, Grand Cayman, Saint Martin, or Antigua. These are amazing places that have so much to offer visitors, but they are not the only choices. There is an island that tends to get overlooked by many: Curaçao.

5 Reasons To Consider Curaçao

Curaçao is a beautiful island that is located just east of Aruba and just off the coast of Venezuela. Curaçao has so much to offer visitors, and here are five reasons as to why Curaçao needs to be on anyone's radar if they're looking to take a trip to the Caribbean.

1. The Beaches

Anyone traveling to the Caribbean is going because of their desire for fun under the sun. There are 35 different beaches to hit while visiting Curaçao. So many beaches considering that it only takes an hour and a half to drive the length of the island. Every beach has a personality of its own; there is a beach that will suit any visitors' desires.

2.  Affordability

Sticking to a budget is important to every traveler, and Curaçao can help travelers stay within that budget. Curaçao is ranked as one of the most affordable of the Caribbean islands to visit. Another great thing about Curaçao is that it is located outside the hurricane belt, so traveling during storm season doesn't pose a real issue.

 3.  Nightlife

Curaçao has a hopping nightlife scene for those looking to fill their days and nights with fun. Live music is a staple of this multicultural island, and all types of music can be heard, from jazz to soca. There is going to be the perfect bar or watering hole for any traveler.

 4.  Art

If you want to partake in a bit more sophisticated type of fun, there are plenty of arts across the island to enjoy. From excellent art galleries to stunning murals across the cities, there is an art to be enjoyed everywhere. There are also multiple museums for visitors to see and enjoy.

 5.  Culture

The island of Curaçao is a multicultural place that has a varied history. Citizens of Curaçao carry a Dutch passport, but from the native Arawak people to the Spanish, Portuguese, and Jewish peoples, there have been a lot of influences on this island. Its proximity to South America also adds to its diversity.

Curaçao is a place that every traveler needs to consider. It is a beautiful island with as much to offer travelers as any other more popular island destination. Maybe the fact that this island flies under the radar of many Caribbean travelers can be another reason as to why it is such a great place. Happy travels!

Fun Day Trips From Basel

Exploring the world through travel, you immediately step into a culture of new experiences, surrounded by diversity and opportunities to discover and build relationships. Explore travel ideas from sun-drenched beaches to ancient ruins. Read on to discover where your travels could take you next.

Switzerland is a central European country that is bordered by France, Germany, and Italy. The location of Basel, in the northwest corner of the country, allows visitors to take fantastic day trips to neighboring countries as well as other parts of Switzerland.

There are a host of great possibilities for you to see more than just Basel. Here are some great ways you can expand your trip to Basel by taking a few day trips.

Chateau du Haut-Koenigsbourg

The location of this French castle offers visitors an incredible view of the Upper Rhine Plains as it sits atop the mountainous terrain that surrounds it. This castle dates as far back as the 12th century and is a beautiful way to see this area of Europe. The best part is that it is only about an hour away from Basel, and it allows you to fit a little bit of France into your trip without having to plan a large excursion.

rötteln Castle

This castle is in a region that sits atop the mountainous terrain. Rötteln Castle is located near Lorrach, Germany, just across the German border. Unlike Koenigsbourg, Rötteln has not been repaired, and it lies in mostly ruin. The tower is still easily accessible, and it gives visitors another excellent way to see this region. It is the perfect place for hiking and soaking in the forested scenery of the European interior.

Bern

Bern is the capital of Switzerland, and visiting there is like stepping back into Medieval times. You would never think that this is the capital as you meander through the winding streets of the old town as it maintains its antique appeal and tranquility. Bern is just a short train ride from Basel, and it should be on your list of places to go and see while you are in Switzerland.

Before traveling to Basel, do a little bit of research and plan out an itinerary that allows you to maximize your time and your experiences. You do not have to limit your trip to Basel itself as this entire region has so much to offer visitors. The best part about traveling to Europe is that it is effortless to get around from place to place and even from country to country.

Just because you are going to Basel doesn't mean you can't go to other parts of Switzerland, France, Germany, or even northern Italy.

"Somewhere on a BEACH..."

Dierks Bentley said it best when he sang “I went wheels up on a runway…I’m somewhere on a beach”.

beach-1868047_960_720.jpg

We’re all tired of being cooped up and with widespread distribution of vaccines, everyone is looking forward to a getaway. It looks like many people this year are saying “Beach please!” and with good reasons: You spend more time outdoors where it is easier social distance.

We’ve all been indoors for too long and the Vitamin D that sunshine brings is even better when mixed with Vitamin Sea.

Are you in need of some great beach recommendations? Get on my calendar now to talk about your upcoming beach vacation!

Jeanine's Calendar

Here are some tips to make sure you pack like a pro for a seaside escape:

First get organized

packing cubes.jpg

With a variety of activities, you need to think about how to organize your bags to make the most of your space. Packing cubes and compressions bags can help you save both space and time. They make unpacking easy as you can just slip them straight into the drawers of your hotel dresser.

Your basic beach list

luggage-1081872_960_720.jpg

If your goal is to settle on the beach and just chill. Here is the minimum list of things to bring along:

• Sunscreen

• Sunglasses

• Bathing suit

• Swim goggles

• A good book or your e-reader

• Sandals and/or swim shoes

• Tank tops

• Shorts

• Hat

• Cell phone and charger (add a portable one for longer days on the sand)

• A waterproof phone case

• Underwear

• Pajamas

• Toothbrush

• Toothpaste

• Other toiletries

Pandemic era basics

hand-disinfection-4954840_960_720.jpg

Even with vaccines becoming widespread, masks are not going away any time soon. While the ability to social distance may allow you to uncover your face for some of the time (nobody really wants the “raccoon face tan” that wearing a mask full time could bring), you will be required to wear a mask in any settings where people gather. A beach vacation is just what you need…lay outside and get a tan (and don’t forget to take off our mask!).

Copies of your documentation

passport-881305_960_720.jpg

It is always wise to have a photocopy of your passport when traveling overseas.

It is also a good idea to take clear phots of your documents and keep them on your phone (Covid vaccine card). Having a copy has helped many people if they lose their original when it comes to getting a temporary replacement at a local consulate.

In this day and age where proof of vaccination, negative Covid test, or existence of anti-bodies could make the difference between entry and denial for various venues, having an extra copy could save the day.

Are you ready to hit the beach yet?

Beach-Vacation-Packing-List-2.jpg

Let me help you to get “your toes in the water” and have “not a worry in the world” (according to Zac Brown).

Here’s some good news: not only are several of our favorite beach destinations reopened to visitors, but you can also book any coastal escape now and if your travel plans change, you can reschedule.

So, without further ado, here are our picks for this year’s Top 15 Beach Destinations!

What To Pack: Spring or Fall in Europe

Ugh, we know - packing is the worst. That's why we're here to help!

The months of spring and fall are some of the very best months to visit Europe. Pleasant weather and less crowding? Um, yes please. Packing for these delightful months, however, is tricky. What if it's cold at night? What shoes do I bring? Will I need a coat? While it's always good to be prepared, you don't want to pack your entire closet. Follow this checklist to pack the perfect suitcase for your European adventure.

Based off a 1-week trip:

Quick Tips

  • Pack a few different scarves. You can wear a neutral colored t-shirt with the same jacket every day, but paired with different scarves, you've got brand new outfits!

  • Plan outfits - not pieces. Before you zip up your suitcase, plan potential outfits for each day of your trip. Of course, these are subject to change, but at least you know that you brought enough stuff.

  • Check the weather forecast up until you leave. Sure, it may change while you're there, but at least you'll get a good idea of the average temperatures during the day and at night.

Tops

  • 4 t-shirts

  • 2 long-sleeved shirts

  • 2 blouses/dress shirts

  • 2 sweaters

  • 1 cardigan

Bottoms

  • 2 pairs of dark wash jeans

  • 1 pair of shorts

  • 1 pair of lightweight pants

  • Skirts and dresses (optional, but make comfortable, stylish outfits!)

  • 1 pair of leggings (don't take up much room and great to wear on the plane)

Underwear, Socks, and Pajamas

  • 10 pairs of underwear

  • 7 pairs of socks

  • Sleepwear

Outerwear

  • Light jacket

  • Raincoat

Shoes

  • 1 pair of comfortable sneakers

  • 1 pair of flats/dressier shoes

  • 1 pair of rainboots (optional)

Accessories

  • Scarves

  • Sunglasses

  • Regaular glasses & contacts (if used)

  • Watches

  • Jewelry

  • Tie (if you have a fancy dinner planned!)

  • Wallet

  • Purse (crossbody with zipper preferable)

  • Zipper backpack

experience amsterdam photo opp.jpg

Electronics

  • Phone

  • Camera

  • Tablet or Laptop

  • Electric converters/adapters

  • All electronic chargers

  • Headphones

Extras

  • Small umbrella

  • Hairbrush/comb

  • Ponytail holders

  • Make-up

  • Facial wash/cream

  • Toothbrush (and travel case)

  • Vitamins/medications

  • Painkillers

  • Gallon-size sealable plastic bags (trust us, they come in handy!)

  • Laundry bag (or use a pillowcase!)

  • Hand sanitizer/wipes

  • Portable stain remover

  • Chapstick

  • Travel documents

  • Passport/ID

  • Cash

  • Debit/credit cards

Happy packing!

The Ultimate Rome Bucket List

Yay! You're finally going to Rome! Now it's time to plan. There's nothing worse than flying to another country and returning home thinking: ugh, I wish I did that! We wish you did, too, and that's why we've put together this checklist for you.

This city is one big open-air museum. Roam around the Eternal City and be sure to check off most, if not all, of these sites and activities. When in Rome, do Rome right. Buon viaggio!

gelato.jpg

1. Eat gelato

If you're like us, you'll eat a different flavor of this creamy goodness every night. For some of the best gelato in the city, try these local favorite spots: Fatamorgana and (notice: we didn't say "or") Giolitti.

pasta italian-1082230_960_720.jpg

2. Eat pasta

We promise, this is not all food-related, but when in Rome, eating is a priority. Try pasta all'Amatriciana, pasta alla carbonara, cacio e pepe, and tons of other delicious dishes. After all, pasta is considered the "first course" in Italy, so there's no excuse to not eat it every night.

3. Book a Vespa tour

When in Rome, right? Treat yourself to a ride on one of these iconic scooters and see the city from a whole new perspective. Zip through narrow streets and fulfill your movie-scene dreams of riding a Vespa through Italy.

4. Stand inside the Colosseum

Whether you splurge on a tour or simply purchase an entry ticket, going inside the Colosseum is a must. Sure, it's amazing from the outside, but its dizzying interior is a whole other gladiator-game.

pantheon-3389208_960_720.jpg

5. Step into the Pantheon

An architectural favorite of many, the Pantheon is by far one of Rome's most breathtaking structures - and it's totally free to enter! Gawk at mesmerizing artwork on its walls, then feel yourself gasp as you look up at the moon-like light of its heavenly oculus.

6. Trevi Fountain at night

Sure, this iconic landmark is beautiful at any time of day, but something magical happens when it lights up against the darkness of night. We guarantee you'll stop dead in your tracks and think whoa. Toss a coin over your shoulder and wish for a return trip to Rome!

7. St. Peter's Square

This massive square will make you feel absolutely tiny. Do yourself a favor and visit once during the day and again at night - it'll feel like a whole different place!

8. Unwind with an Aperol spritz

You might notice just about everyone drinking a bright-orange drink in the afternoon. What is it? An Aperol spritz, of course! Sip on this refreshing, slightly bitter orange aperitivo as you people-watch in a buzzing piazza.

Trasteverejpg.jpg

9. Stroll through Trastevere

Colorful, bohemian, and funky, Trastevere is a now-cool area with old, working-class roots. Known for its innovative trattorias, unique boutiques, and craft beer halls, it's the perfect place to spend a leisurely afternoon.

cappucino.jpg

10. Ease into the morning with a cappuccino or espresso

C'mon, do it like a real Italian! As you sip your frothy-coffee goodness, nibble on a flaky marmalade-filled cornetto (Italian version of croissant) or dip crunchy biscotti into your warm, silky espresso.

top of st. peters basilica.jpg

11. Climb to the top of St. Peter's Basilica

Even those who are afraid of heights should test their bravery and try to do this. Experience one of the most iconic views of Rome and take postcard-worthy photos!

spanish steps.jpg

12. Walk the Spanish Steps

Let's be honest - this site is really about the photo-op. Snap tons of pics and soak up the baroque beauty of the "Scalina Spagna."

4 (Roman Forum).jpg

13. Step back in time at the Roman Forum

If you need a reminder of just how old Rome is, head to the Roman Forum. Right next to the Colosseum, the Forum is a spectacular collection of ancient ruins. A couple of tips: first, purchase a combo ticket that grants entry to the Colosseum and the Forum, and second, wear comfy shoes! It should be no surprise that a place this old has some rocky stone pathways.

mangia pizza.jpg

14. Mangia la pizza!

Okay, that didn't take long - we're back to talking about food again. This one is a no-brainer: eat pizza. Try these local pizzaria's:

colosseum-792202_960_720.jpg

15. See sites at sunrise and sunset

Lighting makes everything look different. The Colosseum backed by a bright blue, fluffy-clouded sky is a whole different Colosseum than the one illuminated by the reds and oranges of sunset. When in Rome, it's important to see iconic sites in different lights - literally. You never know when you might see the most beautiful thing you've ever seen!

Centro Storico.jpg

16. Get lost in the Centro Storico

Most of Rome's most-visited tourist attractions are in its historic center, so you'll probably end up here without actually trying. Sit in Piazza Navona and take in the architectural beauty of this area. Take a stroll down the cobblestoned Via Del Governo Vecchio and weave in and out of interesting shops. Let the Centro Storico take you back in time!

15 Italian Leather.jpg

17. Shop 'til you drop at the Galleria Alberto Sordi

Nestled on the bustling Via del Corso, this grand shopping mall is a sight in itself. You'll catch yourself looking up, down, and all around. Admire this amazing structure's gorgeous columns, ornate decor, and detailed glass ceiling. What better way to buy that Italian leather handbag!

18. Find the "Secret Keyhole" on Aventine Hill

Peek through the Knights of Malta Keyhole on Aventine Hill and gasp at a picture-perfect view of St. Peter's Basilica. This spot has been one of Rome's best-kept secrets, but the word is quickly getting out. Hint: use the Via San Sabina footpath and explore Piazza Cavalieri di Malta to find it! You'll definitely win "coolest Instagram post of the year" for this one.

opera0.jpg

19. See an opera

Calling all culture-enthusiasts! What better place to see an opera than in the birthplace of the music, itself? (Okay, if we're being technical, opera was invented in Florence, but close-enough.) Put on your fancypants and head to the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma for a truly unforgettable experience!

tuscany grapes-851204_960_720.jpg

20. Drink some local vino

With Tuscany as your upstairs neighbor, trying local wines is a must. Not to mention, the rumor that wine is cheaper than water is absolutely true! For just a few euro, you can sip and sample your way throughout Italy.

Have I peaked your interest in Rome? Click the link below to start planning your unforgettable Roman vacation!

Food of Italy

When it comes eating, Italians take their food very seriously. Each region of Italy has a specialty and knowing what’s good where you are can take your experience from good to great! Before you make the faux pas of ordering spaghetti and meatballs or gasp heaven forbid fettucine alfredo, take a glance at some of these mouth-watering specialties and consider giving them a try on your trip!

Risotto alla Milanese.jpg

Risotto alla Milanese • Lombardy

Many of the staple dishes throughout this region have one thing in common: the color yellow. This custom dates all the way back to the medieval ages; the common believe was that consumption of gold promised good health, leading courts to coat food with gold before serving it to guests. The "secret" yellow color in this risotto dish? Saffron.

Fontina Fondue.jpg

Fontina Fondue • Aosta Valley

No travels through the Valle d'Aosta is complete without sampling their rich and famous cheeses, especially the iconic Fontina. This classic cheese has been made in the Aosta Valley since the 12th century and is the perfect flavor and constituency for a steaming bowl of fondue.

Florentine Steak.jpg

Florentine Steak • Tuscany

What makes a Florentine steak so special? It all starts with a cut from Chianina beef, raised in the Chiana Valley, cut thick, and served rare to very rare.

Brodetto all' Anconetana (Soup of Ancona) • Le Marche

This spicy fish stew celebrates the seafaring history of Le Marche. Traditionally made from the catch of fish left behind in the net, the recipe for this soup varies from village to village and city to city.

Porchetta • Umbria

Fatty, crunchy, moist and savory, porchetta is truly a celebration of indulgence! This boneless pork roast has even been chosen by the Italian Ministry of Agricultural Food and Forestry Policies as a traditional Italian food that holds cultural relevance.

Roman Artichokes.jpg

Roman Artichokes • Lazio

Crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, Rome's fried artichokes are a must on any culinary tour of Italy. You will find the world's best/most famous fried artichokes at Giggetto, located in the Jewish Ghetto of Rome.

pizza napolean1.jpg

Pizza Napoletana • Campania

No trip to Italy would be complete without sampling the local pizza, and what better place to sample a slice than the birthplace of the pizza we know today!

Let me help you plan your trip to Italy and make it unforgettable! I will build you an itinerary that is perfect for what you want to do. Click the button below to start planning.

The BEAUTY of Switzerland!

Swiss landscapes are some of the most beautiful in Europe, and the whole world for that matter.

The landlocked country features awe-inspiring Alpine landscapes, crystal-clear lakes, and cities and towns that follow suit. One of the best ways to see it all is by taking a ride of the Glacier Express. The train connects the two major mountain resorts of Zermatt and St. Moritz and whisks passengers through the central Swiss Alps. The train cars have a glass ceiling, providing uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside along the journey.

Alps

Switzerland has some of the most jaw-dropping scenery in all of Europe, thanks to the astonishing Swiss Alps. Even if you're not skiing or hiking, just admiring the majestic Alps will be sure to amaze you. Everywhere you turn, the scenery looks like something out of a Bond movie with snow-covered peaks rising high about you. While you're there, keep an eye out for Matterhorn, which is the most iconic mountain in Switzerland.

mountain-6253669_1280.jpg

Alps Wildlife

A highlight of any hike in the Swiss Alps is wildlife viewing. The population of Swiss Alpine creatures has continued to rebound and flourish in recent years after sever centuries of decline. While hiking in the Alps, and particularly on the Haute Route, be on the lookout for Chamois. This goat-like animal is found at moderately high elevations throughout the Alps and is known for being agile climbers against the rocky terrain. Another local favorite is the Alpine ibex. This mountain goat is instantly recognizable by the male's large and ridged horns.

Saxon Switzerland National Park

Whether you are planning a day trip or want to go exploring, Saxon Switzerland National Park is a great place to escape. The Park is Saxony's only national park and is the only rocky national park in Germany. Let yourself be enchanted by the ancient and mythically beautiful natural landscape. It is one of Europe's last vast wildernesses, ideal for hiking and climbing or just a relaxed day out. One of the most iconic features is the Bastei, a rock formation that is now the most popular day-trip destination in the region.

Saxon Switzerland National Park-3014467_960_720.jpg

Castles of Switzerland

Switzerland is home to some of the most spectacular castles in Europe. The country is famous for its military neutrality, and this can easily be observed through the fantastically preserved castles, many of which date back to the medieval times. One of the best examples of this is the Chillon Castle. Located on a rock on the eastern side of the picturesque Lake Geneva, the castle dates back to 1150 and is one of the most visited castles in the country.

Crisp apple strudels and schnitzel with noodles...these are a few of my favorite things!

When you think of Vienna, you automatically think of schnitzel and opera, but there’s so much more the city has to offer! Known for being one of the liveliest and friendliest European capitals, Vienna also has a thriving culinary scene. The days of the Habsburg Empire brought an eclectic mix of flavors and cooking styles that are now unique to Vienna. That is why Vienna is the only city in the world that has an entire cuisine named after it!

Foods To Try

  • Wiener Schnitzel

  • Sachertorte

  • Austrian Goulash

  • Apfelstrudel (Apple Strudel)

  • Spargel (Spring Asparagus)

  • Erdäpfelsalat (Austrian-style Potato Salad)

Schnitzel

You’ve probably heard of schnitzel, but did you know the dish originated in Austria? It is perhaps Vienna’s most famous dish, and you can find it on the menu of almost all restaurants in the city. Cafe Central, Plachutta and Figlmüller Bäckerstrasse are just a few of the restaurants claiming to have the best schnitzel in town, but we’ll leave that for you to decide!

schnitzel-4081269_1280.jpg

Street Food

Elevate your street food experience with a visit to an Austrian sausage stand in Vienna. Forget what you know about street food because the sausage stands in Vienna are an institution in their own right. Often surrounded by a crowd of hungry locals and tourists alike, these stands are always serving up delicious and quality Würstel. Whether it’s late-night food or lunch that you’re after, you certainly won’t be disappointed!

Pastries

In Vienna, the desserts are just as beautiful as the city itself. Vienna has a long tradition of patisseries dating back to the Austro-Hungarian empire. No visit would be complete without trying some of the city’s specialty cakes and pastries. Head to Hotel Sacher for a decadent slice of Kardinalschnitte or try a slice of Apfelstrudel, one of the best-known Viennese pastries.
